Given that right circular cone.
The cone is formed by revolving the right-angle triangle about the altitude axis by  360 °  angle. When a plane parallel to the base of a right circular cone cuts it, two parts are obtained.  The upper part is a smaller right circular cone, and the lower part is a frustum. The base of the smaller cone and the upper part of a frustum are both circles. Hence, the cross-section made by the plane is a circle.
