Sewage treatment plant involves two stages
1. Primary treatment - this treatment  basically involve physical removal of particles – large and small – from the sewage through filtration and sedimentation. All solids that settle form the primary sludge.
2. Secondary treatment or biological treatment - which involves aerobic microbes called flocs to consume organic matter.
