It is given a shrinking machine and a 9 cm long sandwich is put into the shrinking machine.

Due to shrinking ability of shrinking machine the exact length of stick is reduced, so the exact length of sandwich

= 9 × 1 3 − 1

Using the exponential law

a m = 1 a − m

in the above expression,
The length of sandwich is

9 × 3 = 27
