a_{n} = a + (n - 1) d

Where,

= nth term,

a

= first term

n

= total terms

d

= common difference
Here 7th term,

a_{7} = a + (7 - 1) d

We have,
Common difference d = -4 and seventh term

(a_{7})

= 4.
So,

4 = a + 6 (- 4)

24 + 4 = a

a = 28
