In an electrical circuit, three incandescent bulbs A, B, and C of rating 40 W, 60 W and 100 W, respectively are connected in parallel to an electric source. Brightness of bulb B will be more than that of A.
Resistance is nothing but obstruction to the flow of charges. Power is said to be the rate of work done.
Given that, the power of bulb A, PA is 40 W, the power of bulb B, PB is 60 W, the power of bulb C, Pc is 100 W.
We know that, P= V2R
Where, P is power, V is voltage and R is resistance.
RA=V2P
=> V240
RB=V2P
=> V260
 RC=V2P
=> V2100
 It is seen that RA>RB>RC
As P is inversely proportional to R, the bulb with lower resistance will glow brighter.
