In April 1917, the bolshevik leader Vladimir Lenin returned to Russia from exile. Lenin was the revolutionary leader of the Bolshevik party. He led the Russian revolution. The second stage of the Russian revolution started in November 1917. The second stage of the revolution led to the establishment of the world’s first communist state under Vladimir Lenin. He seized power in Petrograd (now Leningrad). The Kerensky government was overthrown. The power of government was vested in ministers of the council with Vladimir Lenin as premier.
