In disguised unemployment, underemployment is concealed.

Contrary to someone who does not have a job and is obviously unemployed, underemployment is concealed. As a result, it is also known as covert unemployment. Underemployment, hidden unemployment, and partial unemployment are other terms used to describe disguised unemployment. Workers who have been laid off, are working redundantly, or are not being used to their full ability are referred to as the "disguised unemployed."
