Detailed Solution

Both Assertion and Reason are true and Reason is not the correct explanation of Assertion.
Assertion: The organic compounds with the same molecular formula but different chemical and physical properties known as isomers and the phenomenon is termed isomerism. Some compounds have the same molecular formula but different structures.
Reason: Such compounds are called structural isomers and the phenomenon is called structural isomerism. n-butane (C4H10) and iso-butane (C4H10) are structural isomers with the same molecular formula but different structural formulas. A minimum of four carbon atoms are required for a hydrocarbon to form a branched compound.
