Detailed Solution

In females, oxytocin stimulates milk ejection from the mammary glands.

Oxytocin plays a significant role in foetal ejection and milk ejection. Oxytocin is a hormone that is produced in the hypothalamus and released by the pituitary gland. In females, oxytocin is released during breastfeeding in response to the suckling of the baby. This release of oxytocin triggers the contraction of the muscle cells around the milk-producing alveoli in the mammary glands, which leads to the ejection of milk into the ducts and out through the nipples, making it available for the infant to consume.

In males, oxytocin also has a role in various physiological processes. It can influence social bonding, emotional responses, and sexual behavior.
