Here, ABCD is a parallelogram.
∠CBD = 40o and ∠BAD = 80o AD∥BC and BD is a transversal.
∴  ∠ADB=∠CBD            [ Alternate angles ]
∴  ∠ADB= 40o
y= 40o
In △ADB,
⇒ ∠ADB+∠DBA+∠BAD=180°   ⇒40°+x+80°=180°   ⇒x+120°=180°
⇒x=180°−120°
⇒x=60°   Hence, the value of angles x is 60° and of y is 40°.
