In India, most people are employed in the agriculture sector.
The primary sector employs the majority of the labour force in India. 50–60% of the workforce is employed in this area. The agricultural sector is the primary sector. It also goes by the name “raw material sector.” The primary sector includes all aspects of agriculture, agricultural production, animal husbandry, fishing, and mining. In India, 42.6 per cent of the workforce worked in agriculture in 2019, with the remaining 50 per cent split roughly equally between industry and services. Even though fewer Indians are employed in agriculture, it remains the largest industry. Most of India’s population is employed in the primary sector.
