The Council of State, also known as Rajya Sabha, and the House of People, commonly known as Lok Sabha, are the two chambers of the parliament of India. The lower house of parliament, or Lok Sabha, is where members serve as the people's representatives and are chosen directly by them. Rajya Sabha, where members are chosen indirectly, is also known as the upper house.
