Tea, coffee, and rubber are important plantation crops.
One of the farming types is a plantation, in which a single crop is grown at a large scale. Plantation farming comes under the commercial farming type. It was introduced by European countries during colonisation in the equatorial belt, in countries such as  Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka etc. It requires a large area, intensive capital investment, heavy machinery and equipment and labourers in large numbers.
Some of the important plantation crops and their major producing states in India are:
