Detailed Solution

There are three cropping seasons in India: the Rabi, the Kharif, and the Zaid. All three seasons prevail in India, and specific crops are grown and harvested according to the timings. For instance, the rabi season takes place in the winter months. The seeds of rabi crops are sown in October and November and ready to be harvested in April and June. Examples: wheat, mustard, etc. Next is the Kharif season, whose crops are also called monsoon crops as the seeds of these crops are sown when the monsoon hits India, and due to the large geographical area sowing of seeds varies. Examples: rice, maize, etc.
And at last comes the Zaid season, which falls in between the two. The Zaid season covers a short time between the Rabi and Kharif seasons. Examples: watermelon, muskmelon, etc.
