Detailed Solution

The first option is the most appropriate. To become a national party in India, a political party must secure at least 2 per cent of the total votes polled in the Lok Sabha elections from at least three states or 6 percent of the total votes cast in four states in general Lok Sabha elections or Legislative Assembly elections. It also wins four Lok Sabha seats from any state, or A party gets recognition as a state party in four or more states.
If a party follows the three conditions, it is considered a national party in India. At present, India has eight national parties.
