Detailed Solution

In India, the Right Front is not active. There are predominantly three significant alliances in India: National Democratic Alliance (NDA), United Progressive Alliance (UPA) and Left Front. A coalition government is formed when several national and regional parties come together to ally. An alliance is formed when a single party cannot secure a majority on its strength and needs other parties to form a government. NDA came into existence in 1998 and is led by Bharatiya Janata Party. It is ruling at the centre currently. UPA is led by Indian National Congress and was formed in 2004. It is a centrist-leftist alliance. Left Front is an alliance formed in 1977 by several political parties in the state of West Bengal. CPI-M is the dominant party in the alliance.
