Nepenthes is also called as tropical pitcher plants. It belongs to the genus of carnivorous plants in the family Nepenthaceae. It consists of a climbing stem called as tendril. It helps in climbing and protrudes from the tip of the leaf. The pitcher is a modified lamina which forms at the end of the tendril and possesses coloured lid which is formed by leaf apex to attract which attracts insects. It contains a fluid used to digest the prey.
