Detailed Solution

In Newland’s classification elements are arranged in an increasing of their atomic mass.
John Newlands, a British chemist, was the first to group the elements into a periodic table in ascending order of atomic mass. He discovered that every element has eight of a kind, and he named this the law of octaves. There were no openings for newly found elements in his eight groupings of the elements. We can therefore conclude that Newland is categorised in accordance with atomic masses in ascending order.
