In Coconut and Castor, some endosperm is left out unconsumed for the development of embryo. The leftover endosperm provides nourishment for the development of embryo into seedling during seed germination. In Bean, Pea and Groundnut the endosperm is totally consumed during embryogeny and no endosperm is left out in the mature seed. Such seeds are called non-endospermic or exalbuminous seeds.
