In racemose inflorescence, the flowers are arranged in the following order.

In racemose inflorescence the older flowers are present at the base and younger flowers at the apex and such arrangement is called acropetal arrangement. In basipetal arrangement, the older flowers are at the apical region and younger ones at the base. In centrifugal arrangement the older flowers are at the center and younger ones at the periphery. In irregular arrangement the younger older flowers are randomly distributed without in a particular order.
