Thyrocalcitonin (TCT) is a hypocalceimic hormone secreted by the parafollicular cells of the thyroid gland. 

Along with parathormone of parathyroid gland maintain calcium homeostasis. An increase in blood calcium levels stimulates the release of TCT while a decrease in blood calcium levels stimulates the release of PTH.
