Detailed Solution

In the Calcutta session, the Non-cooperation movement was introduced. It was launched on September 5, 1920, by the Indian National Congress (INC), under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. In September 1920, the party presented the Non-Cooperation agenda at the Calcutta Congress. The Non-Cooperation Movement was launched to react to the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, but it was withdrawn due to the Chauri Chaura tragedy in 1922. The non-cooperation campaign was a turning point in the independence process because it demonstrated that the INC was finally ready to give up constitutional protections to achieve self-rule.
