Detailed Solution

In the 18th century, demand for food and grains increased in Britain because of Population growth.
The population in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries was exponentially increasing, leading to problems like hunger. Sufficient food was not available for the masses. Due to this, Urban Dwellers and Industrialists of Britain demanded abolishing of corn laws. Corn Laws were laws that were related to corn. Under this, corn cannot be imported into Britain from any other country. It was imposed to safeguard inhabitant corn farmers and cut their competition from outside countries. But the abolition of corn laws led to major problems like unemployment and migration on a large scale for corn farmers because corn was now imported at a low price.
