Detailed Solution

In the Battle of Panipat, Babur defeated Ibrahim Lodi. It happened in North India and signalled the Mughal Empire's beginning and the Delhi Sultanate's end. In this conflict, the Mughals introduced gunpowder-powered weapons and field artillery to the Indian subcontinent for the first time. Babur defended his right flank against the city of Panipat after learning the magnitude of Ibrahim's army while constructing a trench lined with tree branches to protect his left. He positioned 700 carts in the middle, which were roped together. There were breastworks for his matchlock men between every two coaches. When Ibrahim's army came, he discovered that Babur's army was too close for him to attack. Babur promptly exploited the circumstance to flank (Fulghum) the Lodi army as Ibrahim redistributed his soldiers to make up for the narrower front. When the conflict turned against them, many of Ibrahim's soldiers could not participate in the action and fled. While attempting to escape, Ibrahim Lodi was slain and executed.
