In the below circuit, if the three resistor arrangement was to be replaced by a single one resistor, then its resistance should be 9 Ω.
Question ImageGiven that three resistors are replaced or converted into a single one. This is called equivalent resistance.
Let the equivalent resistor of parallel resistors be R
1R=16+16
1/R=13
=>R=3 Ω
Let the equivalent resistor of the given circuit is Req. Let R3=6 Ω
Now, the resistors R and R3are  in series,
Req = R+R3
=>Req= 3+6
=> Req= 9 Ω
