In the below figure, if AB||CD, then what is the value of x?

Let's draw a line m through point E such that, line  $\mathrm{M}\Vert \mathrm{AB}\Vert \mathrm{CD}$.
Let P be the point on line m.
As line $\mathrm{M}\Vert \mathrm{AB}\Vert \mathrm{CD}$
$\therefore \angle \mathrm{PEC} \& \angle \mathrm{ECD}$ are supplementary.
$\therefore \angle \mathrm{PEC}+\angle \mathrm{ECD}=180°$
$\therefore \angle \mathrm{PEC}+56°=180°$
$\angle \mathrm{PEC}=124°\dots .\left(1\right)$

Now,

$\angle \mathrm{BEC}=\angle \mathrm{BEP}+\angle \mathrm{PEC}\dots \{\mathrm{adjacent} \mathrm{angles}\}$
$\therefore 158°=\angle \mathrm{BEP}+124°\dots$from (1)
$\therefore \angle \mathrm{BEP}=34°$
Also, $\angle \mathrm{ABE} \& \angle \mathrm{BEP}$ are alternate angles.
$\therefore \angle \mathrm{ABE}=\angle \mathrm{BEP}$
$\therefore \mathrm{x}=34°\dots \text{ from }\left(2\right)$
