Detailed Solution

In the case of refraction of light through a glass slab, the direction of the emergent ray with respect to the incident ray is parallel.
When light passes through an optically denser medium from an optically rarer medium, it gets bent towards the normal and vice versa. This phenomenon is called the refraction of light. So when light passes through a glass slab, it experiences refraction twice. Firstly, light passes from the air to the glass and then from the glass to the air. So, the light beam finally becomes parallel to the initial ray.
