By using the basic formula, we can solve this
Number of boys is x, assumed
Then,

\frac{3}{4} x = 18

x = 18 \times \frac{4}{3}

x = 24

Let the total no. Students in class be y.
Then,

\frac{2}{3} y = 24

y = 24 \times \frac{3}{2}

y = 36

Now,
Number of girls in class is y-x.

y - x

36 - 24
