Question ImageWe have to find the area of ΔEFG. Since ABCD is a rectangle, DC||AB .
DC is produced to E and AB is produced to G.
So, DE||AG .
Since the rectangle ABCD and the parallelogram ABEF are on the same base AB and between the same parallels,
area(ABCD)=area(ABEF)
=AB×AD =10×5 =50c m 2
Now, the parallelogram ABEF and ΔEFG are on the same base EF and between the same parallels.
area(ΔEFG)= 1 2 area(ABEF)
= 1 2 (50) =25c m 2
Area of ΔEFG=25c m 2 .
