In the given circuit, the reading of the ammeter and voltmeter would be 0.24 A and 2.88 V respectively.
Since all the resistors are connected in series combination, the equivalent resistance is given by the sum of individual resistances as follows
    R=R1+R2+R3
On substituting the values of resistors, we get the resistance as
    R=5+8+12
R=25 
It is known that the ammeter is used to measure the current flowing through the circuit. Hence, the reading of the ammeter is
    I=VR
I=625
I=0.24 A
It is also known that the voltmeter is used to measure the potential difference between two points. Hence, the reading across 12  resistor is,
      V=IR
V=0.24×12
I=2.88 V
Hence, the ammeter reading is 0.24 A and the voltmeter reading is 2.88 V.
