Here, resistances are connected in series. 

So, the total resistance (R) will be, 
R = R1 + R2 + R3+...
Where R1 = 5, R2 = 8, and R3 = 12 are individual resistance of the resistors. 

In this case,
R = 5 + 8 + 12
 R= 25Ω
By Ohm’s Law,
V = IR, where V is the potential difference, I is the current flowing across the resistance and R is the value of the resistance.

I=VR
I=625
I=0.24 A
Hence, the reading in the ammeter will be 0.24A.
The voltage across a resistor of 12 Ω will be 
    V = IR 
V=0.24×12 
V= 2.88V.
