Given that, a circle touches the side DF of ΔEDF   at H and touches ED and EF produced at K and M respectively and EK=9cm.   We know that tangent segments to a circle from the same external point are congruent. Therefore, EK=EM=9cm   and EK+EM=18cm  .
ED+DK+EF+FM=18cm  
  ED+DH+EF+HF=18cm    (DK=DH and FM=FH)
ED+DF+EF=18cm                (DF = DH + HF)
Hence, the perimeter of ∆EDF is 18 cm.
