Given that ABC   is a right-angle triangle with AB = 6cm and AC = 8 cm
We have to find the value of r.
In fig. 4 triangle ABC is a right triangle with AB = 6 cm, AC = 8 cm and A  = 90^∘ . A circle with center O is inscribed inside the triangle. Find the  radius 'r'By Pythagoras theorem, for a right-angle triangle ABC,A C 2 =A B 2 +B C 2   where  AC is the hypotenuse of ABC.  
In triangle ABC,
BC 2 =AB 2 +AC 2 BC= 8 2 +6 2 = 64+36 = 100   Therefore, B C= 10 cm.
Determine the value of r.
 Area of VOAC+ Area of VOAB+ Area of VOBC = Area of VABC 1 2 ×8×r + 1 2 ×6×r + 1 2 ×10×r = 1 2 ×8×6 4r+3r+5r=24 r=2   The value is, r = 2cm
Therefore, the correct option is 1.
