Given, a rectangle MNOP is made up of four congruent rectangles.
The area of one of the rectangles = 8 Question Image Its breadth = 2 m.
The perimeter of any closed figure is the sum total of all of its sides.
Here the area of one rectangle is given as is 8 m 2 and breadth is given as 2 m.
Now, as the area of a rectangle is the product of its length and breadth, so using this definition for any one rectangle in the diagram, we have the length of the rectangle as,
= 8 2 =4  m 2
So, we have the dimensions of the complete rectangle MNOP as follows,
Length = 2 + 2 + 4 = 8 m
Breadth = 4 m
Using these dimensions, we have the perimeter of MNOP as,
=2 Length+Breadth =2 8+4 =12×2 =24
Hence, the perimeter of the rectangle MNOP is obtained as 24 m.
Hence, the correct option is 1.
