In the Harappan civilization, pulses, barley, wheat, etc., were grown by the people. These were also the first crops that the Harappans grew. Residents of Harappa cultivated crops and raised livestock. A plough was used to alter the soil and disperse the seeds for plowing the ground. Water was gathered and given to the farms as the plants developed. The Harappans then brought up buffalo, cattle, sheep, and goats. People were also engaged in fruit gathering, fish gathering, and antelope hunting.
