In 1722, Burhan-ul-Mulk Sa'adat Khan was chosen as the subadar of Awadh.
In the year 1722, Sa'adat Khan received the position of subadar of Awadh. One of the most significant states to result from the dissolution of the Mughal Empire, i.e., the Province of Awadh, was founded by him. The region of Awadh was prosperous. It was in charge of the lucrative Ganga alluvial plain and the primary commerce route connecting Bengal and northern India. All three essential positions-Subadari, Diwani and Faujdari, were held by Burhan-ul-Mulk. Thus, Sa'adat Khan oversaw the military, economic, and political affairs of the province of Awadh.
