In the year 1904, the real wages of Russian workers declined by 20 per cent.
The year 1904 was particularly a bad one for the Russian workers. The Prices of essential goods rose to an impossible level for workers to afford. The wages of the workers at the same time were reduced by 20 per cent. Various protests and strikes were initiated to increase salaries and alter the working hours. A procession was organised by Father Gapon, who the State Police attacked after reaching the winter palace. More than 100 workers were killed, and 300 were wounded. This very incident is known as Bloody Sunday. This series of events also come under the Russian Revolution.
