Velocity: It is a vector quantity and it has both magnitude and direction. The magnitude of the velocity vector is the immediate speed of the object. The direction of the velocity vector is navigated in the same navigation that the object moves.

  • Since an object will move in a circle, its direction will continuously change. At one moment, the object will move northward such that the velocity vector will be directed northward. One-quarter of a cycle later, the object can be moving eastward such that the velocity vector is directed eastward.
  • As the object rounds the circle, the direction of the velocity vector will be different than it was the instant before. So while the magnitude of the velocity vector can be constant, the direction of the velocity vector will change. hence proved that the velocity is variable in a uniform circular motion
