Venus-fly-trap is Dionaea. It has unifoliate palmate compound leaves in which the petiole is modified as heart shaped phyllode for photosynthesis. The leaflet is modifies as insect trap. The margin of leaflet has protruding sharp structures and upper surface has trigger hairs and digestive glands. The trigger hairs can sense the prey and help in shutting the lamina to catch the prey.
