Light travels at a speed of 2.25×108 m/sin water. The speed of light in a vacuum is almost the same as it is in air, that is,  3×108 m/s. Its speed in glass is  2×108 m/s. When light travels from a rarer medium to a denser medium, it bends. Depending on the medium, light moves at a different speed.
