HIV infects CD4 cells (TH  cells, macrophages or dendritic cells). It primarily targets T-helper cells, which are a type of lymphocytes. It binds to and enters CD4 receptors on the surface of T-helper cells. Once inside the T-helper cell, the virus replicates using the cellular machinery of the host cell and produces new copies or progeny viruses.

This replication process in T-helper cells is responsible for the progressive destruction of these immune cells, leading to a weakened immune system and the development of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).

(1) Eosinophils are a type of white blood cell involved in the immune response against parasites and allergic reactions. They are not the primary target for HIV replication.

(3) B-lymphocytes are involved in the humoral immune response. They are responsible for producing antibodies
to fight against infections. HIV does not undergo replication within these cells.

(4) Basophils are a type of white blood cell involved in allergic reactions and inflammatory responses. They are not the primary targets for HIV replication.
