Detailed Solution

The first moveable print was invented in the 11th century.
Early in the eleventh century, a Chinese farmer named Bi Sheng (Pi Sheng) created the first moveable type, which was a significant development for woodblock printing. Even while Sheng himself was a commoner and did not leave much of a historical legacy, his contemporary Shen Kuo, a scholar and scientist, thoroughly recorded his clever printing technique, which required the creation of hundreds of unique characters. Kuo's moveable characters were composed of baked clay, according to Kuo, who describes this in his book from the 11th century, "Dream Pool Essays." Sheng's technique, according to Kuo, allowed for the speedy printing of thousands of copies of a document since the ink he employed was a combination of pine resin, wax, and paper ashes.
