Detailed Solution

The Industrial Revolution began in Britain. Up to the 1730s, there were no manufacturers in England. The growth in the number of industries didn't begin until the late eighteenth century. Cotton served as the symbol of the new era. In the latter half of the nineteenth century, production increased dramatically. 2.5 million pounds of raw cotton were imported by Britain in 1760 to support its cotton industry. The value of this shipment reached 22 million pounds by 1787. Numerous adjustments made to the production process were responsible for this growth. The efficiency of each stage of the production process—carding, twisting and spinning, and rolling—was improved by several improvements in the eighteenth century. This resulted in the creation of cotton mills, the production of stronger yarn and thread, and the start of the Industrial Revolution.
