Detailed Solution

A steam engine is an example of what we refer to as a heat engine since it burns coal to release the heat energy it contains. It resembles a large kettle on top of a coal fire in several ways. The water in the kettle is heated by the fire, which causes it to boil and produce steam. However, unlike the steam from a kettle, which is wasted and released into the air, the steam is retained and used to drive a machine. The glass, paper, and textile industries are among those that use coal extensively. Additionally, coal is utilised in the production of silicon metals, carbon fibre, and other specialised materials that are used to create ingredients for the personal care and domestic goods industries.
