Detailed Solution

The resolution of Purna Swaraj was adopted in the Lahore session of 1929. In December 1929, the Indian National Congress held its annual session in Lahore, which was presided over by Jawaharlal Nehru. Nehru flew the tricolour flag on the banks of the Ravi river and called for a "Poorna Swaraj," or full self-rule, with January 26, 1930, as the date designated for independence. January 26, 1930, was a watershed moment in the history of the Indian nationalist struggle since it marked the beginning of the widespread Civil Disobedience movement. People pledged to seek Poorna Swaraj or complete independence.
