Binary fission is a type of asexual reproduction in which the parent organism divides to form two daughter individuals.

Amoeba is a single-celled microscopic organism that reproduces asexually by the process of binary fission.

The process is initiated by the division of the nucleus into two. After this, the body also divides into two where each half receives a nucleus. As a result, two daughter amoebae are produced from one parent amoeba through binary fission.
