Detailed Solution

Bastar was located in Chhattisgarh.
Bastar was the princely state during the colonial rule in India. The Bhumkal, or the Bastar Rebellion, was a rebellion started by the Adivasis of that region in 1910 against the policy of the British Raj in the princely state of Bastar. Gunda Dhar, a tribal leader, started the rebellion. All the tribals mobilised and began revolting against the new policy imposed by the British raj in which the British government proposed to control two-thirds of the forest area. Ban was imposed on the shifting cultivation and hunting. Locals were prohibited from entering the forest to collect forest produce. All these measures agitated the locals, and they started revolting.
