Detailed Solution

Robert Clive established the Dual Government in Bengal in 1765. A dual government contains the Diwani right and Nizamat right. Shah Alam II granted the Diwani rights and Nizamat rights. Nizamat rights were administrative rights given to Nawab of Bengal. Diwani's right was to collect revenue and decide civil cases. The EIC acquired the Diwani rights. Dual governance was abolished in 1772 by Warren Hasting.
