In which year did S.N. Bose meet Einstein?

Satyendra Nath Bose met Albert Einstein in 1924, though their “meeting” first began through letters rather than in person. At that time, Bose, a brilliant Indian physicist from Calcutta University, sent Einstein a short paper written in English on how light particles (photons) could be treated statistically. This paper explained Planck’s law in a new way. 

Bose requested Einstein to translate it into German and publish it in a scientific journal. Einstein recognized the importance of Bose’s work and not only translated it but also extended the ideas to atoms giving birth to what we now call Bose-Einstein Statistics.

Later that same year, Bose visited Europe and met Einstein personally in Germany. Their discussion laid the foundation for quantum statistics that governs the behavior of bosons  particles that follow Bose-Einstein rules. 

That year, 1924, is thus remembered as a turning point in modern physics and the beginning of one of the most remarkable collaborations between an Indian scientist and a global genius.
