Detailed Solution

In 1858 the Queen's proclamation ended the East India Company's dominance in India.
The East India Company's dominance over India ended after the 1857 Rebellion. According to Queen Victoria's Proclamation of 1858, India would then be governed and administered by the British Monarch through a Secretary of State. On November 1, 1858, Queen Victoria proclaimed "the Princes, Chiefs, and Peoples of India" that established a new British policy of continued support for "local princes". And non-interference in internal religious affairs was passed. By the Government of India Act 1858, an act of the British parliament, the East India Company's territory and authority were transferred to the British Crown.
